K. has a little friend who just got her ears pierced for her 4th birthday. I've told K. she can have her's done when she's twelve -- sort of as recognition that she's on the brink of the teenage years (yikes!) and because I figure she'll be old enough to take responsibility for cleaning by that age. Seven is a nice age, too, though. It is wonderful that MB is so responsible.
